Ministry for Family Care donates school supplies to Vranje students

The Serbian Ministry for Family Care and Demography has donated 650 school backpacks filled with supplies to first-grade students in Vranje. The donation was announced during a visit by Minister Jelena Žarić Kovačević to the city.

During her visit, Minister Žarić Kovačević met with Vranje Mayor Slobodan Milenković to discuss population policies and local cooperation. She highlighted several state initiatives, including the construction of three playgrounds in Vranje through the ‘Ljudi čine grad’ project, for which 8 million dinars have been allocated.

Regarding housing, the Minister noted that over 1,700 families have benefited from state subsidies for purchasing real estate based on childbirth, representing a total state investment of over 28 million euros. She further announced that a budget rebalance has added 200 million dinars to the fund for first-time property purchases, with a commission scheduled to review new applications in early September. Additionally, the state has invested over 62 million dinars into the Nutrition Fund, benefiting more than 900 children over the past year.
