Ministry of Construction clarifies social housing eligibility verification

The Ministry of Construction has provided guidance regarding the verification of housing conditions for individuals applying to purchase social housing. Under new regulations, the authority responsible for confirming housing status is the agency competent to issue land use right certificates and ownership certificates for assets attached to land in the province or centrally-run city where the social housing or housing for the armed forces project is located.

According to Decree No. 100/2024/ND-CP, an individual and their spouse are considered to have no owned housing if their names or housing information do not appear in the land use right or ownership certificates in the relevant province or city. Upon receiving a request for verification, the competent local authority must provide confirmation within seven days.
