KDKMP manager placements targeted for October 1

The Indonesian government is targeting October 1, 2026, for the operational placement of managers for the Koperasi Desa/Kelurahan Merah Putih (KDKMP). Approximately 28,620 managers have received placement decrees from PT Agrinas Pangan Nusantara. These managers will work under fixed-term contracts (PKWT) for two years, with monthly earnings ranging from Rp6.8 million to Rp8.3 million.

There has been significant public discussion regarding managers being assigned to locations far from their original domiciles, including different islands. The Ministry of Cooperatives explained that recruitment was not based on a strict regional approach; instead, placements must balance the number of qualified candidates with the availability of operational cooperative sites. To address concerns, Minister of Cooperatives Ferry Juliantono advised managers to accept their initial assignments to maintain their status, noting that placements will be adjusted to closer locations as more physical buildings are completed.

Regional authorities have provided additional guidance for the program. In Sumenep, officials requested that KDKMP business activities be tailored to local village potential rather than being standardized. In Merauke, local officials noted that while 21 cooperatives have been established, construction has yet to reach local villages, prompting calls for more equitable distribution of the program.
