Ministry of Culture to upgrade Bogor historical sites to National Cultural Heritage

The Indonesian Ministry of Culture is preparing to upgrade several historical sites in Bogor Regency, West Java, to National Cultural Heritage status. Minister of Culture Fadli Zon announced that the ministry is currently revitalizing various locations to preserve the region's historical legacy.

Key priority sites for development include the Ciaruteun Site, Kebon Kopi 1, Kebon Kopi 2, Prasasti Jambu, and new findings in the Arca Domas area. For the Kebon Kopi 2 site, where the original inscription has been lost, the ministry plans to create a replica for educational and historical purposes. Additionally, the ministry has already worked on the Batu Cianten site and the construction of a museum there.

This initiative aims to leverage Bogor's cultural, historical, and religious potential to boost tourism. The ministry also intends to collaborate with the Bogor Regency government to develop a contemporary arts and culture ecosystem.
