Ministry of Finance to hold debt auctions in multiple currencies

The Ministry of Finance has announced a series of debt auctions to be conducted through the Central Bank on October 27, 2026. The auctions will involve borrowing in Turkish Lira, US Dollars, Euros, and British Pounds.

The planned transactions include a 1.5 billion TL treasury bill with a 112-day maturity, as well as treasury bill auctions for 6 million USD, 3 million EUR, and 10 million GBP with 135-day maturities. Additionally, a 20 million USD government bond auction with a 369-day maturity will be held.

To mitigate exchange rate risks associated with foreign currency amounts, the Treasury intends to use swap transactions to convert these funds into Turkish Lira. Bids will be accepted via banks through the electronic transaction platform between 10:00 and 12:00 on the auction date.
