Ministry of Health warns of fraudulent refund phishing emails
The Italian Ministry of Health has issued a warning regarding fraudulent phishing emails circulating under its name. These messages use subject lines such as ‘You are entitled to a refund’ or ‘Health payment rectification’ to deceive recipients.
The scam aims to steal personal and banking information by using fictitious reasons like ‘Refund summary’. The Ministry clarified that it never sends emails to distribute cash refunds. Citizens are advised not to click on any links within such messages, not to provide personal or banking credentials, and to delete the emails immediately. Official communications should only be verified through the Ministry’s official website or regional health portals.
