Ministry of Immigration and Correctional Affairs emphasizes integrity and innovation

The Indonesian Ministry of Immigration and Correctional Affairs (Kemenimipas) is emphasizing integrity and innovation within its workforce. During a visit to the Batam Class IIA Prison, Inspector General Dr. Rudi Setiawan inspected facilities including the healthy kitchen, prison cooperative, and inmate training programs. He urged correctional officers to maintain high integrity and warned against the abuse of authority, stating that services must be professional and accountable.

Separately, Minister Agus Andrianto closed the 2026 Kemenimipas Coordination Meeting in Jakarta by encouraging civil servants to drive performance through innovation. He noted that meaningful changes do not always require large budgets or central government policies, but can stem from individual initiative to solve workplace problems. The Ministry recognized Wiko Nurdian, an IT specialist from the NTT Immigration Regional Office, for developing an archival numbering application to improve workflow efficiency.
