Ministry of Internal Affairs inaugurates drone training laboratory

The Ministry of Internal Affairs has inaugurated a drone training laboratory at the ‘Ștefan cel Mare’ Academy. The facility is equipped with 18 workstations and is designed to train specialists in the use of surveillance and monitoring drones.

These drones will be utilized for various missions, including obtaining rapid imagery from hard-to-reach areas, searching for missing persons, assessing emergency situations, and monitoring large areas. The aerial data is intended to assist field teams in situational assessment and intervention planning.

First training courses are scheduled to begin in November. The initiative follows the training of 12 Ministry employees in Berlin, six of whom will serve as instructors for their colleagues. The laboratory was established with support from the GS Foundation and funding from the German Federal Foreign Office.
