Rimini Meeting 2026 to host Pope Leo XIV and 500 speakers
The 47th edition of the Meeting for Friendship Among Peoples, titled ‘L’amor che move il sole e l’altre stelle’, will take place in Rimini from August 21 to 26, 2026. The event features a significant expansion in scale, covering 140,000 square meters of the Rimini Fairgrounds, a 16% increase from the previous year.
A central highlight of this edition is the visit of Pope Leo XIV on Saturday, August 22. To accommodate the Pontiff, a Grand Auditorium with a 10,000-seat capacity has been constructed. The program includes over 150 meetings featuring approximately 500 international and Italian speakers, covering themes such as peace, the Holy Land, education, and artificial intelligence.
Institutional participation is high, including the Italian Ministry of Education and Merit, which will host an information point for educators and families. The event is supported by 3,300 volunteers and remains the only major Italian large-scale event to offer free entry and parking. Specific focus will be given to the Middle East, with discussions involving the Custody of the Holy Land and various religious and political figures.
