Ministry of Public Works begins bridge installation in El Arrayán

The Ministry of Public Works (MOP) has begun installing a mechanical bridge in the El Arrayán sector of Route 41-CH. This project aims to restore connectivity in the Elqui Valley following damage caused by recent heavy rains.

The new bidirectional structure features a 36-meter span and two access ramps, totaling 250 meters in length. Once completed, the bridge is expected to improve road safety and transit conditions for those traveling between La Serena and Vicuña. Authorities anticipate the bridge will be operational within one month, providing a vital link for local supply chains and tourism.
