Ministry of Public Works official faces scrutiny over corruption allegations

Legal experts are calling for the Attorney General's Office to investigate alleged corruption regarding the renovation of the ground floor of the Ministry of Public Works (PU) Cipta Karya Building. The project, conducted during the 2023 fiscal year, reportedly carries a potential state loss of up to Rp16 billion.

Criminal law expert Abdul Fickar Hadjar has urged prosecutors to examine all parties involved, including officials responsible for the project. Deputy Minister of Public Works Diana Kusumastuti has come under scrutiny due to her previous role as the Director General of Cipta Karya during the time the project was implemented. Hadjar emphasized that the Jakarta High Prosecutor's Office must confirm the existence of criminal activity and proceed to a full investigation to collect evidence and witness testimonies.
