Ministry of Public Works reinforces Krueng Tingkeum Bridge in Aceh

The Indonesian Ministry of Public Works is reinforcing the Krueng Tingkeum Bridge in Bireuen Regency, Aceh, to mitigate the risk of riverbank erosion caused by changing water flows. The project involves constructing riverbank protection spanning 273 meters on the Banda Aceh side and 463 meters on the Medan side.

Minister of Public Works Dody Hanggodo stated that the post-disaster infrastructure repairs follow the ‘Build Back Better’ principle, utilizing stronger standards to ensure resilience against future disasters. Additionally, the duplication of the Krueng Tingkeum Bridge has been fully operational since September 20, 2026, supporting regional mobility and logistics distribution.
