Ministry of Science and Education and OpenAI sign AI education pact

The Ministry of Science and Education and OpenAI have signed a three-year Memorandum of Understanding to expand the use of artificial intelligence in education. The agreement was signed in New York by Minister of Science and Education Emin Amrollayev and OpenAI Vice President of Education Leah Belsky.

The partnership aims to improve teaching and learning opportunities for both teachers and students by making the educational process more efficient and accessible. Key objectives include developing AI-based teaching tools and establishing standards for the safe and responsible use of AI in educational institutions.

Specific focus areas involve using OpenAI technologies to enhance management systems for mathematics, natural sciences, and reading. The collaboration will also provide support for teachers in lesson preparation, material development, and student assessment, aiming to reduce administrative workloads. Additionally, the initiative includes training programs for educators and students, as well as a ‘training of trainers’ program to strengthen local expertise in artificial intelligence.
