Ministry of Social Affairs hosts 2026 Sekolah Rakyat Journalism Awards

The Indonesian Ministry of Social Affairs announced the winners of the 2026 Sekolah Rakyat Journalism Awards in Bekasi Regency on Saturday, October 17, 2026. The awards recognize journalists for their work documenting education and the lives of children from underprivileged families.

Minister of Social Affairs Saifullah Yusuf and Coordinating Minister for Community Empowerment Abdul Muhaimin Iskandar presented the awards across writing, video, and photography categories. Notable winners include Mohammad Iqbal Shukri from Tribun Jateng for first place in the print and online media category. In the video category, Crypto Hermawan from TVRI Jakarta secured first place.

Lembaga Kantor Berita (LKBN) ANTARA received multiple honors, including second place in video journalism for the work ‘Meraih Asa’ and second place in photo journalism for Andry Denisah. Additionally, ANTARA’s Muhammad Bagus Khoirunnas received a life achievement award for his photographic work ‘Cahaya Tawa di Balik Asrama Sekolah Rakyat’.
