Ministry of the Environment selects six companies for plastic recycling project
Six companies, including Resource Circulation Systems, Daiwa Environment, DNP, BIPROGY, Mie Chuo Kaihatsu, and Yagikuma, have been selected for a Ministry of the Environment project focused on advanced social implementation of plastic resource circulation.
The initiative aims to establish a resource circulation model for waste plastics generated at construction sites. The project will utilize AI-driven sorting support, ensure quality through recycling processes, and create demand for recycled materials.
Using construction sites in the Kinki region operated by Daiwa House Industry as demonstration fields, the companies will test AI cameras for material identification, verify the stable production of recycled raw materials like polypropylene and polyethylene, and evaluate the environmental value through Life Cycle Assessment (LCA).
