Ministry of Tourism conducts traveler surveys in Tocantins
The Brazilian Ministry of Tourism and Itaipu Parquetec are conducting in-person interviews with travelers in Palmas and Paraíso do Tocantins to map travel habits, preferences, and experiences. This initiative is part of the first edition of the National Tourism Demand Survey (PNDT), which aims to interview approximately 22,500 tourists across the country by October 3.
The survey focuses on understanding the visitor journey, including consumption habits, satisfaction levels, and choices regarding accommodation and transportation. The collected data will be integrated into the National Observatory of Sustainable Tourism to help governments and the private sector improve services, develop new itineraries, and enhance infrastructure based on actual traveler needs.
The execution of the research involves the Brazilian Network of Tourism Observatories (RBOT), which is responsible for methodological planning, data collection coordination, and result consolidation. The standardized questionnaire covers topics such as transportation methods, length of stay, travel group composition, activities performed, and expenditures during the visit.
