Minka Kreho sole qualified candidate for Court of BiH presidency
Minka Kreho is the only candidate meeting the legal requirements for the presidency of the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina. While two applications were submitted for the position, the second applicant is not a judge of the court and therefore does not qualify under the law governing the High Judicial and Prosecutorial Council (VSTV BiH).
Kreho has served as the acting president of the court for the past three years following the suspension and subsequent resignation of Ranko Debevec. Under current regulations, the president must be a judge appointed to the court with proven organizational and leadership abilities, serving a six-year mandate.
The selection process will proceed with an interview before the Appointment and Promotion Department, followed by a presentation of a work program to the Council. The appointment is considered significant for the functioning of the judiciary and public trust in the institution.
