Minnamurra driver charged with high-range drink-driving and assaulting police
A 32-year-old woman is facing multiple charges following a high-range drink-driving incident in Minnamurra. Police intercepted a sedan on Riverside Drive after receiving reports of concerning driving behavior. A roadside breath test allegedly returned a result of 0.220, which is more than four times the legal limit.
Two children, aged two and four, were present in the vehicle at the time of the stop but were uninjured. The driver was arrested and taken to Lake Illawarra Police Station, where she allegedly attempted to assault a senior constable while in custody.
The woman has been charged with driving with high-range PCA, driving recklessly or in a dangerous manner, and assaulting a police officer in the execution of duty. She is scheduled to appear in Kiama Local Court on October 7.
