Minneapolis police shoot at armed teen after carjacking and squad car ramming
A Minneapolis police officer fired their service weapon at an armed 16-year-old suspect during a carjacking incident. The confrontation occurred after the suspect rammed a police squad car while officers attempted to intercept the vehicle using city cameras.
Following the collision, the teenager fled on foot and was apprehended after a chase near West 31st Street and Grand Avenue South. The suspect was transported to a hospital after reporting mental health concerns and physical pain; it remains unclear if the suspect was struck by gunfire.
Two police officers sustained minor injuries during the encounter, including one ankle injury and a small facial cut.
