Former nonprofit leader Aimee Bock, founder of Feeding Our Future, was sentenced in Minneapolis federal court to 41½ years in prison and ordered to repay about $243 million after a jury convicted her of conspiracy, wire fraud and bribery. Prosecutors said the organization ran a $250 million scheme that fabricated thousands of meals for a pandemic‑era child‑nutrition program, siphoning funds intended for low‑income children, many from Minnesota’s Somali community. The case was cited by former President Donald Trump as justification for a heightened immigration enforcement push in the Twin Cities. In the same investigation, daycare owner Fahima Egeh Mahamud was charged with wire fraud and conspiracy for allegedly submitting over 13,000 false claims that produced roughly $4.6 million in federal and state childcare reimbursements. Mahamud’s charges are part of the broader Feeding Our Future network that also involved other individuals and entities accused of inflating Medicaid and autism‑therapy billing. The sentencing marks the culmination of the largest known fraud against U.S. social‑service funds during the COVID‑19 pandemic.
