Minnesota Education Agencies Grant $520K for Disability Access and Honor 97 Schools for Positive Behavior

The Minnesota Office of Higher Education announced a grant of more than $520,000 to improve services for students with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The funding will be shared by Bemidji State University, Lake Superior College and Normandale Community College through the Inclusive Higher Education Grant program, which has invested about $1.3 million in four colleges since its 2023 launch.

Separately, the Minnesota Department of Education recognized 97 schools in 41 districts for sustained commitment to Positive Behavioral Intervention and Supports (PBIS). Nine districts received districtwide honors. Recognized schools include Apollo and Tech High Schools, North Junior High and others in the St. Cloud Area, Sauk Rapids‑Rice, and Foley districts.
