Minnesota hosts various community festivals and events this weekend

Minnesota hosts several community events and festivals during the weekend of August 15–16, 2026. In Plainview, the 56th Annual Corn on the Cob Days features a variety of activities including a parade, car and tractor shows, a golf tournament, and a 5k run. A highlight of the Plainview event is the distribution of free sweet corn at Wedgewood Park on Sunday, August 16, from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Other regional activities include IndiaFest at the Minnesota State Capitol grounds in St. Paul, which celebrates India's Independence Day with cultural performances and traditional cuisine. In Eden Prairie, Arts in the Park offers local artisan goods and live music, while Uptown Minneapolis hosts Porchfest, featuring musicians performing on neighborhood porches. Additionally, lakeside line dancing classes are scheduled at Bde Maka Ska in Minneapolis, and Corn Fest at Valleyfair includes corn-themed treats and contests.
