Minnesota investigators rule Jessi Pierce house fire accidental
The Minnesota State Fire Marshal has determined that a fatal house fire in White Bear Lake was accidental and caused by an electrical issue. The fire, which occurred around 5:30 a.m. on March 21, claimed the lives of NHL reporter Jessi Pierce, her three children—Hudson, Cayden, and Avery—and the family dog.
Investigators reported that the fire originated in an office area due to overheating electrical equipment. Because of the extent of the fire damage and a collapsed roof, officials could not pinpoint the exact location of smoke alarms, though interviews and mapping technology suggest the family would have had only one minute to escape following alarm activation.
Jessi Pierce, 37, was a well-known sports personality who covered the Minnesota Wild for NHL.com for ten seasons and hosted the ‘Bardown Beauties’ podcast on the SKOR North network.
