Minnesota locations noted for haunted legends and history
Minnesota features several locations noted for their legends and supernatural associations. Grey Cloud Island is highlighted for its history of Native American settlements and the presence of the Grey Cloud Cemetery and burial mounds. Reported sightings at the island include a former Native American Chief appearing with a green lantern or orb, a driverless white truck, and a translucent man in red flannel.
In St. Paul, the Wabasha Street Caves have been identified by HGTV as the creepiest place in the state. Carved into sandstone hillsides during the 1800s, the caves served various purposes including mining, mushroom farming, and later acting as a popular site for gangsters during the Prohibition era. The site currently functions as a restaurant and casino.
