Minnesota Lynx defeat Toronto Tempo 100-72 in WNBA matchup

Reserve guard Maya Caldwell led a balanced attack with 16 points as the Minnesota Lynx routed the expansion Toronto Tempo 100-72 on Thursday night in Minneapolis. The loss was the worst in Tempo’s brief history, dropping the Canadian team to a 3-3 record after two earlier wins.

The Lynx’s victory was supported by contributions from Courtney Williams (15 points), rookie Olivia Miles (14), and both Natasha Howard and Kayla McBride (13 each). Toronto’s top scorer was Kia Nurse with 23 points off the bench, while rookie Kiki Rice added 11. Minnesota shot 55% from the field, rebounded 46‑25, and out‑scored the Tempo 42‑24 in the paint. The Tempo shot 34% overall and 29% from three‑point range.

The game marked the Lynx’s third win of the season (3‑2) after close early contests, and the Tempo will host fellow expansion team Portland the following Saturday.
