Minnesota Lynx defeat Valkyries as Olivia Miles suffers ankle injury

The Minnesota Lynx defeated the Golden State Valkyries 77-66 on Wednesday night, maintaining their position at the top of the WNBA standings with a 30-7 record. Despite the victory, the game was overshadowed by an injury to Lynx rookie guard Olivia Miles.

Miles recorded 20 points, seven assists, and five rebounds before exiting the game midway through the fourth quarter after stepping on teammate Napheesa Collier’s foot. Lynx head coach Cheryl Reeve stated that Miles had tweaked her left ankle but noted it was too early to determine the severity of the injury.

Prior to the injury, Miles had been performing at a historic level, setting records for rookie scoring and 20-point games. Other key contributors for the Lynx included Kayla McBride, who scored 20 points, and Napheesa Collier, who added 18 points and eight rebounds.
