Minnesota man kills wife, daughter, and mother before suicide

Nathan Brown, 41, killed his wife, Kristen Ann Brown, 41, and their 7-year-old daughter, Evie Ann Brown, at their home-based daycare in Hopkins, Minnesota, before taking his own life.

According to a Hennepin County search warrant, Brown used a screwdriver to fatally stab his wife and daughter inside the basement of the Brown Bear Childcare facility. He then died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound in an upstairs closet. Six other children were present during the attack but were not physically harmed. A witness, a parent dropping off children, reported hearing screams and fled the scene with their children.

Investigators believe Brown also killed his 78-year-old mother, Alice Anne Brown, at her home in Burnsville prior to the attack at the daycare. Evidence suggests Kristen Brown had recently planned to close the daycare due to relationship issues with her husband. Hopkins police are continuing to investigate the incident.
