Minnesota noncitizens indicted for illegal voting

A federal grand jury has indicted 10 foreign nationals for allegedly voting illegally in Minnesota. The charges include counts of unlawful voting and falsely claiming United States citizenship to register to vote.

U.S. Attorney General Todd Blanche stated that the indictments are part of a broader effort by the administration to prioritize election security. Since President Donald Trump returned to office, the Department of Justice has charged 90 noncitizens with election-related crimes. Blanche noted that the administration has charged 50 illegal aliens with voter-related fraud within the last five weeks.

In Minnesota, U.S. Attorney Daniel N. Rosen emphasized that voting is a privilege reserved for American citizens. The indicted individuals include nationals from countries such as Liberia, Lithuania, and Ghana, with some facing charges related to voting in the 2022, 2024, and 2026 election cycles.
