Minnesota shuts down assisted-living homes linked to Sekou Dukuly

Minnesota authorities have taken enforcement actions against three assisted-living facilities linked to Sekou Dukuly, the Managing Director of the Liberian National Port Authority. The Minnesota Department of Health has moved to suspend and revoke the licenses of three Golden Touch Health Care facilities in Brooklyn Park and Brooklyn Center, citing licensing violations and an imminent threat to resident safety.

Simultaneously, the Minnesota Department of Human Services has suspended public payments to facilities affiliated with Dukuly due to credible allegations of Medicaid fraud. Investigations revealed that Dukuly identified himself as responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Twin Cities-based homes despite residing in Liberia. State officials noted the facilities lacked appropriate licensed leadership, and the suspension of government payments may necessitate the relocation of residents to ensure their continued safety.
