Minnesota soccer defeats No. 25 Iowa 1-0

The University of Minnesota women's soccer team secured a 1-0 shutout victory against No. 25 Iowa to open Big Ten conference play. Tenley Senden scored the decisive goal in the 41st minute after entering the game as a substitute.

Goalkeeper Sarah Martin recorded her third clean sheet of the season, making six total saves, including four critical stops in the second half to withstand an Iowa offensive surge. Despite Iowa outshooting Minnesota 14-3 in the final 45 minutes, the Golden Gophers' defense maintained the lead. This win marks Minnesota's first victory over a top-25 opponent since November 2024.
