Minnesota Timberwolves move to re‑sign guard Ayo Dosunmu

The Minnesota Timberwolves are actively negotiating a contract extension with guard Ayo Dosunmu, whose deal expires this summer. After joining the team mid‑season, Dosunmu posted averages of 14.4 points, 4.2 rebounds and 3.5 assists over 24 games and delivered a 43‑point performance in the first‑round playoffs. The franchise views him as a priority player for the coming years, especially given injuries to teammates Donte DiVincenzo and Anthony Edwards.

Dosunmu, now 26, has indicated a desire to remain in Minnesota, saying the team “will have the priority to do things right and make me feel at home.” The Wolves have begun discussions on a new deal that is expected to exceed the $7.5 million he earned last season. Both sides appear optimistic that an agreement can be reached before free agency begins.
