Minnesota Twins promote top prospect Walker Jenkins amid playoff struggle

The Minnesota Twins face a critical juncture in their postseason pursuit following a difficult West Coast road trip. After entering the trip tied for the American League’s final wild-card spot, a series of losses in San Diego and against the Athletics has seen their playoff odds plummet from 39% to 11%. The team currently holds a 64-70 record and sits four games out of a playoff position.

In an effort to revitalize the roster, the Twins have promoted top prospect Walker Jenkins to the major leagues. The 21-year-old center fielder is set to make his MLB debut in a pivotal series against the Chicago White Sox at Target Field. The Twins will also rely on pitcher Dean Kremer to start the matchup.
