Minnesota Twins sign reliever Ron Marinaccio to minor league deal

The Minnesota Twins have signed veteran right-handed reliever Ron Marinaccio to a minor league contract. The move is intended to provide the organization with additional pitching depth at the Triple-A level.

Marinaccio joins the Twins after a turbulent season in which he was designated for assignment by three different teams: the San Diego Padres, the Pittsburgh Pirates, and the Cincinnati Reds. During his time with the Reds this season, he struggled significantly, posting a 6.09 ERA over 57.2 innings.

While his recent performance has been inconsistent, Marinaccio possesses a repertoire that includes a fastball, changeup, cutter, and sweeper. The Twins aim to utilize him as organizational depth in the event of injuries to their existing bullpen.
