Green Bay Packers face injury concerns ahead of Jets matchup
The Green Bay Packers face significant injury concerns heading into their Week 2 matchup against the New York Jets. Defensive lineman Javon Hargrave has been downgraded to a non-participant in practice while in concussion protocol. Linebacker Lukas Van Ness is also in concussion protocol, though he has practiced in pads. Additionally, defensive lineman Warren Brinson (calf) and defensive end Devonte Wyatt (ankle) are dealing with injuries, while star pass rusher Micah Parsons remains sidelined recovering from a torn ACL and meniscus.
To address offensive line depth following a season-opening loss to the Minnesota Vikings, the Packers have signed veteran guard Cordell Volson to their practice squad.
Ahead of the game, analysts have noted that Jets quarterback Geno Smith holds a statistical advantage over the Packers' defense, maintaining a high completion percentage and quarterback rating against current defensive coordinator Jonathan Gannon.
