Minnesota Vikings face injury concerns ahead of Week 1

The Minnesota Vikings enter their Week 1 season opener against the Green Bay Packers with several injury concerns following the preseason. Quarterback J. J. McCarthy has dealt with an ankle sprain that caused him to miss games during the preseason. While there were conflicting reports regarding his recovery and whether he was ready to play, general manager Nolan Teasley indicated that McCarthy had been practicing in full as of early September. His specific role in the opening game remains uncertain.

Additionally, undrafted rookie safety Jacob Thomas, who had a strong preseason performance, suffered an ankle injury during his final preseason game after only seven snaps. The team also faces the loss of Jamal Adams, who sustained a season-ending leg injury.
