Minnesota Vikings face running back depth issues and rookie development

The Minnesota Vikings are facing challenges regarding roster depth and player development. On the offensive side, the team is struggling with a lack of running back depth. Concerns have been raised regarding the decision to wait until the fifth round of the draft to select Demond Claiborne, especially as veteran Aaron Jones faces heavy usage and Jordan Mason is on the injured list.

Defensively, first-round selection Caleb Banks has shown improvement in his second week. After a difficult Week 1, Banks increased his production to six tackles and one tackle for loss. Head coach Kevin O'Connell noted that Banks is working to correct issues with his pad level, supported by defensive line coach Ryan Nielsen.
