Minnesota Vikings GM supports J. J. McCarthy amid injury concerns

Minnesota Vikings General Manager Nolan Teasley expressed confidence in quarterback J. J. McCarthy, stating that the first-round pick’s ‘story is not written’ despite recent injury concerns. McCarthy, who has dealt with meniscus, ankle, and hand injuries, has been a full participant in practice following a preseason absence due to an ankle injury.

Teasley noted that McCarthy’s current role is to develop, improve, and support his teammates. While the Vikings named veteran Kyler Murray as the starting quarterback, the team opted to keep four quarterbacks on their 53-man roster, including McCarthy and Carson Wentz.

In addition to roster updates regarding the quarterback position, the Vikings announced the signing of veteran edge rusher Kyle Van Noy to the practice squad to provide depth to the defensive line.
