San Francisco 49ers sign Naquan Jones amid injury concerns

The San Francisco 49ers have made several roster adjustments, including signing defensive tackle Naquan Jones from the Minnesota Vikings' practice squad to a one-year deal. The team also signed wide receiver Brandin Cooks and defensive lineman Viliami Fehoko Jr. to the practice squad, while releasing cornerback Jakob Robinson.

These moves come amid significant injury concerns for the 49ers' defensive line. Defensive tackle C.J. West has been placed on injured reserve after suffering a bone chip in his knee, an injury that will require surgery. Additionally, defensive end Nick Bosa missed practice due to a calf injury, and wide receiver Mike Evans has been sidelined with a hip issue. Other players, including Demarcus Robinson and James Thompson Jr., are also dealing with high-ankle sprains.

Head coach Kyle Shanahan noted the impact of these injuries on the team's depth at defensive tackle, stating that the team is relying on practice squad players to fill the gaps.
