Minnesota Vikings sign Odell Beckham Jr. to practice squad
The Minnesota Vikings have signed veteran wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. to their practice squad. The 33-year-old joins the undefeated 4-0 team following his recent release from the New York Giants.
Beckham’s brief return to the Giants this season resulted in zero catches across three games and only one target. The move to Minnesota reunites him with head coach Kevin O’Connell, who was the offensive coordinator for the Los Angeles Rams during Beckham’s Super Bowl LVI championship run. Beckham also shares a personal connection with Vikings star receiver Justin Jefferson, with whom he attended Louisiana State University.
The signing provides depth for a Vikings receiving corps currently managing injuries to both Jefferson, who is dealing with an ankle sprain, and Jordan Addison, who is managing a hamstring issue. Beckham, a three-time Pro Bowler with nearly 8,000 career receiving yards, will look to use the practice squad opportunity to re-acclimate to an NFL offense and earn a spot on the active roster.
