Minnesota Vikings tight end T. J. Hockenson has entered concussion protocol following an injury during Sunday’s game against the New Orleans Saints. Hockenson was evaluated in the medical tent and locker room after landing hard on the turf while being tackled on a seven-yard catch during the opening drive.

Vikings head coach Kevin O’Connell confirmed the status of the veteran playmaker. The team’s upcoming bye week may provide Hockenson with additional time to recover.

In other roster news, Vikings wide receiver Justin Jefferson returned to the lineup for the matchup. Meanwhile, the Saints saw the return of linebacker Jaylan Ford and cornerback Lorenzo Styles, who were activated from the injured reserve list.
