Minnesota Weather Authority issues severe weather alert
Minnesota’s Weather Authority has issued an alert for potential severe thunderstorms expected during the afternoon and early evening. A line of showers and thunderstorms is projected to develop west of the Twin Cities around midday, intensifying and moving into the west metro area after 3 pm.
Possible weather hazards include heavy rain, hail, wind gusts exceeding 60 mph, and isolated tornadoes. Despite the storm threat, temperatures are expected to be unusually warm for late October, with highs reaching the 60s and lower 70s across the state.
