Minnesota Wild implement lineup changes and roster moves
The Minnesota Wild are implementing significant changes to their roster and lineup configurations for the 2026-27 season. Head coach John Hynes has begun experimenting with a new top forward line, moving Kirill Kaprizov to play alongside Matt Boldy and Joel Eriksson Ek. This shift follows a brief period where Kaprizov played on an all-Russian line with Danila Yurov and Maxim Shabanov.
In addition to tactical lineup adjustments, the Wild have announced several roster transactions. Forward Rieger Lorenz has been recalled from the AHL’s Iowa Wild, while depth defenseman Matt Kiersted has also been recalled. To accommodate these moves, the team reassigned Tyler Pitlick and placed Nick Foligno on injured reserve due to an upper-body ailment. Furthermore, goaltender Filip Gustavsson has been moved to long-term injured reserve as he continues his recovery from offseason hip surgery.
