Quinn Hughes reaches 500 points in Wild victory over Canucks

Quinn Hughes recorded a goal and an assist to reach 500 career NHL points during the Minnesota Wild’s 4-2 victory over the Vancouver Canucks at Rogers Arena. The performance marked Hughes’ first return to Vancouver since being traded from the Canucks to the Wild in December 2025.

Despite the milestone, Hughes faced significant hostility from the home crowd, including boos and derogatory chants throughout the game. A tribute video shown during the first period drew a mixture of cheers and jeers from the audience.

In addition to Hughes, the Wild saw goals from Maxim Shabanov, Bobby Brink, and Kirill Kaprizov. For Vancouver, Max Sasson and Brock Boeser provided the scoring. The loss marks the Canucks' tenth consecutive defeat.

Following the game, Hughes addressed his contract situation, stating his “two feet are planted in Minnesota” and suggesting that a decision regarding an extension “could happen soon.” Hughes is currently in the final season of his contract and is set to become an unrestricted free agent next summer.
