Minnesota Wild defeat Vegas Golden Knights 4-2

The Minnesota Wild defeated the Vegas Golden Knights 4-2 on Monday night at Grand Casino Arena. The Wild secured the victory behind a strong first-period performance, with goals from Matt Boldy, Maxim Shabanov, and Danil Yurov. Despite a late rally from the Golden Knights featuring goals by Rasmus Andersson and William Karlsson, Joel Eriksson Ek sealed the win with an empty-net goal.

Minnesota’s special teams remained a highlight, as the team maintained a league-leading penalty kill rate. However, the victory was overshadowed by significant injuries. Forward Nico Sturm was forced out of the game after being struck in the head by a puck. The Wild also face roster challenges with Marcus Foligno and Nick Foligno on injured reserve, and defenseman Brock Faber previously sidelined with a skull fracture.

In other game action, the Ottawa Senators defeated the New Jersey Devils 4-1, led by Tim Stützle. The Wild's win moves them to the top of the Central Division, while the Golden Knights remain leaders in the Pacific Division.
