Minnie Dlamini seeks R2.5m in damages over podcast fallout
Media personality Minnie Dlamini has filed a 79-page submission with the Johannesburg equality court, seeking R2.5 million in damages following comments made on MacGyver ‘MacG’ Mukwevho’s podcast. Dlamini alleges that the podcast episode caused significant professional and financial harm, specifically citing the collapse of a Nivea campaign valued at R897,000.
Dlamini states that her career relies on brand confidence and public image. She claims that after the April 2025 episode of ‘Podcast and Chill’, her professional engagements diminished. The Nivea deal, managed by Dentsu Creative CPT, had included deliverables such as Instagram reels, mall activations, and exclusivity agreements.
Of the R2.5 million in damages sought, Dlamini intends to donate R1.5 million to the nonprofit organization Women for Change, while retaining R1 million for herself.
