Minoh Station to close for unexploded ordnance disposal

Hankyu Railway has announced that service on the Hankyu Minoh Line will be suspended and Minoh Station will be closed on September 27, 2026, to facilitate the disposal of unexploded ordnance. The ordnance, which dates back to wartime, was discovered at a construction site in Minoh, Osaka Prefecture, last month.

The disposal operation will be conducted by the Japan Ground Self-Defense Force. Due to the safety perimeter established by the city of Minoh, the suspension will affect the section between Ishibashi-Handai-mae Station and Minoh Station. Access to the station premises and the station plaza will also be restricted as they fall within the警戒区域 (security zone).

To mitigate the impact on commuters, alternative transportation services will be provided via the Kita-Osaka Kyuko Railway, Osaka Monorail, Osaka Metro, and Keihan Electric Railway.
