Minor Hotels and Accor open new hotels in Barcelona and other Spanish cities

Minor Hotels announced that it will take over management of two new properties starting January 2027: a 70‑room NH Hotels & Resorts hotel on Barcelona’s Avenida Paralelo and the NH Budapest District VII with 76 rooms. The acquisitions are part of a management contract with Salomon Hospitality, which previously owned the assets. Minor Hotels, which operates 342 hotels across 28 countries, highlighted the additions as a flexible and sustainable expansion.

Accor has opened the largest Ibis budget hotel in the Iberian Peninsula in Barcelona’s 22@ district, featuring 189 rooms, a rooftop pool and family‑friendly facilities. The group also unveiled plans for two Ibis Styles hotels in Spain: a 116‑room property in Granada slated for summer 2027 and a 101‑room hotel in Tenerife expected to open mid‑2027. Both projects aim for Breeam Good environmental certification and target the growing tourism market in their respective locations.
