Minor Hotels and Grupo Petra partner for hotel expansion in Paraguay

Minor Hotels and Grupo Petra have signed a strategic partnership to expand hotel development across Paraguay. Under the agreement, Grupo Petra will identify and structure hospitality opportunities, which Minor Hotels will then evaluate for potential management contracts. The collaboration focuses on the upscale, upper-upscale, and luxury segments, utilizing brands such as NH, NH Collection, and Tivoli.

The partnership aims to capitalize on Paraguay’s macroeconomic stability and growing demand for tourism and corporate travel. While the capital, Asunción, remains a primary focus, the companies are also evaluating opportunities in Ciudad del Este, driven by cross-border commerce, and Encarnación, which is seeing growth in tourism and residential development.

The first major milestone of this collaboration is the Petra Imperiale project in Asunción. This mixed-use development is scheduled to open in early 2030 and will feature an NH Collection hotel.
