Minor Hotels and Grupo Petra partner to expand Paraguayan hospitality

Minor Hotels and Grupo Petra have signed a strategic alliance to expand the hotel sector in Paraguay. The partnership focuses on developing properties under the NH, NH Collection, and Tivoli brands, targeting the upscale, upper-upscale, and luxury segments.

A key project in the agreement is the construction of a 116-room, four-star NH hotel in Asunción. Construction is scheduled to begin in the first quarter of 2027, with an expected opening by late 2029. The companies are also evaluating opportunities in Ciudad del Este and Encarnación to leverage regional connectivity and commercial activity.

In a separate development within the national hospitality sector, the Los Lagos Resort Hotel in Capiatá has officially received a four-star rating from the National Secretariat of Tourism (Senatur). This certification follows a quality assessment process conducted alongside the National Institute of Technology, Normalization, and Metrology (INTN).
