Minor league baseball updates: DSL Reds win nine straight

Recent minor league baseball action featured notable performances in the Dominican Summer League (DSL) and across various affiliate levels.

In the DSL, Boston affiliates went 0-2 on Monday. Miguel Welch was named Player of the Day after driving in two runs and stealing two bases. Welch currently maintains a .293 batting average for the season. In the same league, the DSL Reds secured their ninth consecutive victory with a 6-5 win, highlighted by home runs from Wanderly De La Cruz and Angel Nunez. De La Cruz extended his on-base streak to 45 games.

At other affiliate levels, the Louisville Bats defeated their opponents 5-1, led by Edwin Arroyo, who recorded a double and a home run. Meanwhile, the Chattanooga Lookouts suffered a 15-3 loss to the Daytona Tortugas. A scheduled game for the Dayton Dragons was canceled due to rain.
